Tronoh (June 14, 2009) : The Students Representative Council of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (MPPUTP) has established a new community medium for all UTP students to interact to each other recently. The online community application is powered by ning.com.

"This action is in the response of increasing demand for students' integrity," said Muhammad Hafiz, Exco of Promotion & Publication department, MPPUTP.

"From my opinion, it's better than using the previous version of UTPress, it's more interactive and attractive," expressed Hasmadi Hasbi, Treasurer of MPPUTP.

This new version of community-based online application has several interactive features such as blogging, forum, events, photos, videos, instant messaging (chat), and comments. This e-community provides the flexibility for students to interact directly and express their concerns to their representatives and the management of UTP.

"I hope that this medium will be fully used by both the students of UTP and the management of UTP," commented Hafiz.

"The e-community will be ran concurrently with the previous version of UTPress (Blog) until the end of August. After that we will permanently run the e-community application," added Hafiz.

Oil Price Rise Above US$61 As US Supply Falls

NEW YORK: Oil prices rose above US$61 a barrel Wednesday, riding gains on Wall Street and a government report that said U.S. crude supplies dropped more than expected. Benchmark crude for August delivery added $2.02 to settle at $61.54 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. In London, Brent prices rose $2.23 to settle at $63.09 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.

During the past few weeks, crude fell from its peak and has loitered near $60 a barrel as America's expanding population of unemployed workers left doubts about a quick economic recovery. A weaker dollar combined with a rally in equities markets has kept oil prices from falling further, however.

Crude barrels, which are traded in dollars, go up in price as the dollar falls and foreign investors find they have more buying power. Investors also see crude as a safe haven from inflation, and they've pumped money into oil futures on the expectation that oil will get more expensive as the economy improves.

Meanwhile, the Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday that the country's supply of crude oil dropped more than expected last week, falling by 2.8 million barrels. However, the U.S. is still swimming in surplus oil. It's total inventory of 344.5 million barrels is 16.5 percent above last year's levels.

Inventories of gasoline and distillate fuels, such as diesel and heating oil, also rose last week. Rising world stock markets also propped up crude prices, with major exchanges logging gains in the wake of better-than-expected earnings reports from Intel and Goldman Sachs. Trader and analyst Stephen Schork said prices could swing either way in the next few days, setting a longer-term trend.

In other Nymex trading, gasoline for August delivery jumped by 6.15 cents to settle at $1.7081 a gallon and heating oil added 7.02 cents to settle at $1.5821 a gallon. Natural gas for August delivery fell by 14.6 cents to settle at $3.283 per 1,000 cubic feet. - AP

Micheal Jackson's Death Still Unsolved After Autospy

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Doctors conducted an autopsy on the body of Michael Jackson on Friday but could not immediately determine what killed the "King of Pop," amid reports he had been injected with a narcotic painkiller shortly before collapsing.

Jackson was in full cardiac arrest when paramedics arrived at his rented mansion in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon, with his personal physician trying desperately to revive him.

The 50-year-old pop superstar was rushed to nearby UCLA Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead without regaining consciousness.

"The cause of death (determination) has been deferred, which means that the medical examiner has ordered additional testing such as toxicology and other studies," Los Angeles County Coroner's spokesman Craig Harvey said. "Those tests we anticipate will take an additional four to six weeks."

Speaking to a throng of reporters outside the coroner's office, Harvey said, "There was no indication of any external trauma or indication of foul play to the body of Mr. Jackson."

Police said they were seeking to question Jackson's personal physician, identified by news media as Houston-based cardiologist Dr. Conrad Murray.

Jackson's body was moved to a mortuary at the family's request on Friday night, assistant chief coroner Ed Winter told reporters. He did not disclose the location and there was no immediate word on when Jackson would be laid to rest.

Celebrity website TMZ.com, citing an interview with an unidentified "close member" of the Jackson family, reported the entertainer was injected with Demerol about half an hour before he went into cardiac arrest.

Siswi UKM Maut Dikejar 'Lembaga'
